new jedi...

Postby kerys » Thu Feb 26, 2009 8:48 am

Hey! My name's Kerys. I'm a regular Dragon*Con attendee & I met some of the Chattanooga-area RL & 501st at the FU opening at the Game Stop in Hixson a few months back. I have nearly finished my generic old republic jedi costume for the RL as well as my imperial gunner for the 501st.

These aren't my submission pics ( :) I have read the guidelines), but I thought I'd seek out some input.

With severely wrinkled cloak ...because Jedi don't hoard material possessions... like an iron...

My saberforge lightsaber, which I luvs and luvs!

&, my pride & joy: my belt (in progress).

My covertec clip is on the way. My pouch and food capsules are in a box in a closet somewhere, and I just need to install my buttonstuds.

My big questions are: The standard doesn't mention undertunic color. Mine is a very subdued, medium grey-green. Will that be okay? And my belt is obviously a bit more personalized than many, but again, the standard doesn't say much about the belt. Mine has (or will shortly) all the standard features, just with a little more flair. Should this be okay?

I would go with a cream color inner tunic, or maybe white, However, I am not a judge, but for what I can see it looks awesome. Needs to have the pouches and foot pellets on there before you submit a photo.

You, would also need to when making your submission photo make a front, right side photo, left side photo, rear photo, and a photo without your robe. However, it does look awesome though what I seen so far. If you have nothing planned on Monday nights many of us who are star wars fans also is a member of a local group called Chattooine. We meet on the second mondays of every month at the Rave Theater in East Ridge right off the interstate.

if you need anymore information call me

Woah, everything looks great! I was going to say that I couldn't see your belt in the first couple of pics, but then BAM we get the nice close up. Very nice on the belt... Yeah, it's not a traditional looking belt, but since you're not going for a named character, I don't see anything wrong with it at all. The saber is very cool, btw. Great job!

Thanks for all the input! You invited me to Chattooine when we met before, but I work Monday nights (8 or 10p to 8a). What time do you meet, again?

Thanks for the input. The saber is from http://www.saberforge.com They're really nice. Mine doesn't do sound effects, but they recently offered a very similar one that does.

I would never go with white for a Jedi. Light cream is ok.

The belt is fabulous. More Old Republic. I wouldn't change it.

Iron your cloak before events. Makes for a much more professional look.
